Hallo Community,
gern möchten wir unsere Erfahrungen mit euch über den Tourenanbieter Explore Pantanal teilen und euch helfen, damit ihr nicht die gleichen negativen Erfahrungen sammelt.
Der Tourenanbieter wird aktuell in den Reiseführer von Dumont und Christian Loose empfohlen. Darauf hatten wir diesen Sommer dort eine Tour gebucht und wurden sehr enttäuscht.
Die Agentur hat sich gewandelt und wird nicht mehr wie beschrieben mit von einer Schweizerin zusammen geleitet. Der Guide und jetzige Eigentümer Marcello führt alleine die Agentur und hat sich nach der Trennung stark verändert. Die Schweizerin führt jetzt auf der anderen Seite des Pantanal eine eigene Agentur. Vielleicht sollte man dort eher buchen.
Der Anbieter hat sogar bei Tripadvisor seine schlechten Erfahrungen löschen lassen um besser da zu stehen. Die Begründung: Er heißt jetzt Explore Pantanal Day Tours.Er bietet jetzt angeblich keine mehrtäigen Reisen in das Pantanal an. Diesen Hinweis haben wir von Tripadvisor erhalten, auf Nachfrage, wo denn die schlechten Bewertungen alle hin sind.
Anbei unsere Beschreibung, bereits für die internationalen Gäste in Englisch verfasst, welche wir geschrieben haben. Gern können wir euch auch die deutsche Version schicken. In der Bewertung erfährt man sehr viel über die aktuellen Missstände des Anbieters:
Following the recommendation in the Stefan Loose travel book, we booked a tour at Explore Pantanal, which was described as the best agency in the Pantanal. For booking issues we were a lot in contact with Ekta, who was always kind and helped us a lot.
The day before the tour was started, we stayed on night in Miranda at the agency’s lodge. There we first met Marcello, our tour guide, and another couple of travelers. We were eating our dinner together, when suddenly Marcello started to tell us more about his past. He was once living in an Indian tribe. In the information paper we got before we started the tour it says that the participants of the tour shall not ask the guide about his past. So we didn’t. He was telling us more and more about what happened in the past and was getting more and more emotional and aggressive. Then he started to attack us verbally. As everybody was shocked and nobody was saying anything anymore I tried to calm him down by saying that I feel very sorry for his past. Then he offended me by saying I am not sorry. In the end, he blamed us „white people“ for everything (white people are always stingy). And if that were not bad enough, he asked us why we „human beings“ are killing each other. He was pointing the whole time at us. When tried to explain him that we never killed someone, he was getting even angrier. He sees his-self as an animal. He wanted to show the man of the other couple „how to respect her“.
We tried to change the theme and asked Marcello what he recommended to wear the next day. He shouted at us, that he is not the weather forecast. He could not recommend anything. And if he gave advice in the past, the tourists did not follow this. He always spoke in a way as if we were little, stupid children. When we said we do not want to swim in a river full of caimans and piranha fishes (we even saw jaguars swimming in that river later!), he was pissed off.
This was a very bad start for a really expensive tour.
The next morning we went to the Pantanal for our day tour. The first tour activity was really awesome, we saw so much animals. Marcello has a lot of experience and a huge knowledge. He knew how to communicate with the animals, so that we finally found them. The tour was over at 10 am. Marcello told us the next activity would be at 6 pm. According to our tour schedule one boat tour was missing. So one of our fellow travelers asked in a very cautious and friendly way about the boat trip. Marcello, up to this point even-tempered started shouting: He is taking the question as complaint. We will see no animal anyway. He was very angry and aggressive again. Reluctantly he prepared the boat to start. The whole tour, Marcello did not say one word – he didn’t show any animal or explained us something about the flora and fauna. Instead, he drove the boat that slowly that we were burning in the sun. It was like he wanted us to punish, that we asked for the boat tour (we had not even insisted on it).
After the boat trip, we had our lunch. Marcello called Ekta by telephone. He was complaining about us all. He called the man who asked about the boat tour on the phone „fucking asshole“. He shouted very loud, so that all people in the restaurant were already looking at him. The fellow traveler (fucking asshole) tried to calm him down to safe our tour and brighten the mood. At the evening we had a boat trip again. At this time Marcello was in a really good mood. We saw again a lot of animals including two jaguars and hyacinthine macaws!
The complete day all tour fellows were unsure about Marcello’s mood. He had severe mood swings - sometimes it changed from minute to minute. The only thing we recognized was, that when Marcello had a beer in his hand, his mood was excellent.
We really paid a lot for this tour and were looking forward to this time. As already mentioned Marcello is really skilled in terms of nature and animals. But unfortunately we will not remember the tour kindly as we never got this insulted and offended.
Unless you are a stone without feelings, don’t care about missing program points and paying all your attention to Marcello, we can’t recommend the offered tours of Explore Pantanal to you.

Hallo zusammen
Ich war anfangs Oktober 2015 für 4 Tage mit Marcello unterwegs und ich kann nur positives berichten. Er ist wirklich ein ruhiger Typ, der den Pantanal und seine Bewohner (ob Mensch oder Tier) liebt. Er erklärte sehr viel über den Pantanal, beantwortete stets meine Fragen, war pünktlich und zuverlässig.
Ich würde ihn jedenfalls jedem weiterempfehlen - keine Ahnung was ihn bei der Tour mit chrisk87 geritten hat. So habe ich ihn glücklicherweise nicht kennengelernt.

Hallo zusammen
Ich war anfangs Oktober 2015 für 4 Tage mit Marcello unterwegs und ich kann nur positives berichten. Er ist wirklich ein ruhiger Typ, der den Pantanal und seine Bewohner (ob Mensch oder Tier) liebt. Er erklärte sehr viel über den Pantanal, beantwortete stets meine Fragen, war pünktlich und zuverlässig.
Ich würde ihn jedenfalls jedem weiterempfehlen - keine Ahnung was ihn bei der Tour mit chrisk87 geritten hat. So habe ich ihn glücklicherweise nicht kennengelernt.

otka75 das liegt wahrscheinlich daran dass es letztes Jahr war und chrisk87 hatte ja bereits direkt am Anfang geschrieben, dass sich die Agentur gewandelt hat.

Genau. Ich hatte die Tour ja auch genau wegen diesen positiven Empfehlungen gebucht. Aber der Eigentümer und die Eigentümerin hatten sich getrennt wegen persönlicher Probleme.
Wir haben sogar den Hinweis bei der Buchung bekommen, ihn nichts persönliches zu fragen. Das stand auf der Buchungsbestätigung  Aber er hatte ja gleich von alleine losgelegt.
Seine Laune schwankt sehr und leider ist davon die ganze Tour und die Erlebnisse abhängig. Ich würde nicht nochmal das Risiko eingehen und dort an einer Tour teilnehmen.
