Kurz zusammengefasst:
Auf keinen Fall Roller vor dem Kuta Indah Hotel in Kuta, Lombok ausleihen!
- es handelt sich um eine kriminelle Bande, die dort sämtliche Hütten/Stände illegal aufgebaut haben und teilweise auch das Hotelpersonal bedrohen
- Roller werden "gestohlen" und tauchen plötzlich wieder auf (aber nur wenn man das Glück hat mehrere Tage dort zu sein)
- Selbst wenn der Roller gefunden wird bestehen die Leute dort immer noch auf extrem hohen Summen, die für das "Finden" bzw. kaputte Schlösser oder ähnliches bezahlt werden müssen
- ein anderes Päarchen durfte für einen kleinen Kratzer ebenfalls extrem viel bezahlen, der Kratzer wurde vermutlich allerdings nicht mal beseitigt so wie die Roller aussahen...
- Tip: Roller im Novotel ausleihen, diese kosten zwar das doppelte pro Tag (100k), sind aber versichert! Alle anderen Roller im Dorf werden von Privatleuten vermietet, d.h. ihr seid abhängig von eurem Glück! Wir haben auch vom Taxifahrer gehört, dass in letzter Zeit öfter Roller an den Stränden entwendet werden...
Unser komplettes Erlebnis hier auf Englisch (ich habe leider (hoffentlich verständlicherweise) keine Lust mir diese Geschichte auch nochmal auf Deutsch aufzuschreiben...)
Everything was ok until our scooter was “stolen” from a supervised parking lot at the beach. Great. So we got back to the hotel and talked to the guys in front of the hotel where we had rented the scooter, but they weren’t really keen on doing something about the stolen scooter. They just said we have to wait for the owner (who showed up the next day…). In the mean time we also went to the local police station, but they couldn't do anything.
At night, the guys in front of the hotel were already waiting for us when we came back from dinner – that would’ve been ok, but not that the hotel security let them into the lobby. They insisted that we should pay for a new scooter, but we said we don’t do anything before we’ve not been at the police with the owner (we were lucky as they didn’t have our passports). Also they said that it’s our fault that the scooter was stolen (!), as we didn’t have the parking ticket anymore (who keeps these tickets?). Next morning, we heard from some guys that our scooter was found (why did they know that??). So we drove to the police together with the owner (but not to the local one, to a station ~20 min away), it took us 3 hours to make a police report and the police just said that they’re done now and we can argue with the owner about paying the scooter. Nobody wanted to understand that we knew that the scooter was found (which made us really suspicious!), so we got back to the hotel again and talked to a lot of people about that, when suddenly a new person (which we first thought was the hotel security) showed up and said that the scooter has been found (finally!).
So we drove to the same village again (the new person turned out to be something like the boss of the younger guys), the scooter was standing in something like a “military base” (we asked how it came there and just heard, “sometimes you’re lucky”…). They then told us our situation was better now and we only had to pay for the broken lock and the search team that found the scooter. Since we were not willing to pay we drove back to the hotel.
As we wanted to be sure about the scooter we walked to the local police station again (of course they hadn’t heard anything yet, so we had to tell the whole story again) and after 20 min they called us that they found our scooter (what we already had told them) – but we had to go there again, to make sure that it was really “our” scooter. The police said again that we’re done and drove us back to the hotel. They also told us that they had heard about a couple that paid way to much for a small scratch in one of their scooters (which wasn't fixed anyways probably).
We didn’t want to go out of the hotel that night so we had dinner at the hotel restaurant (the food was actually really good!). What then happened was not really nice from the hotel itself – the security let these criminals inside of the hotel, they even knocked and joggled at our door in evening! But we refused to talk again at night – showdown next morning.
We sat at the hotel lobby and waited for our taxi (you can call bluebirds via +62 370627000) and in short – they talked again and said we have to go to the scooter again bla bla, which ended in THEM closing the hotel gate and saying we’ll never get out there if we don’t pay. You could really see that the complete hotel staff was feared of them, and I could feel instantly why - one of these criminals tried to slap me with his flip-flop (the hotel security didn’t intend to stop him at all, the owner of the scooter and other hotel guests helped us). So we could do nothing besides paying for the broken lock (still way too much for a lock), so that we could leave that place.
Our taxi driver then told us (the second one, they refused the first one to drive in) that they are picking up tourists who were scammed at least 2-3 times/month in Kuta Lombok, so better beware what you’re doing there. He also told us that the Novotel rents out scooters with insurance for double the price (100k instead of 50k/day), so better try to book it there, it’s really worth it. And the best thing – the Bluebird Taxi was even cheaper than the local transport mafia if you are more than one person. So do yourself a favor and avoid this rip-off in front of the hotel at all costs.

eventuell hilft es dem einen oder anderen.
Leider können dir solche Dinge überall wo es etwas "touristischer" ist passieren aber gehäuft auf Lombok.....
Lombok hat bei mir einen faden Nachgeschmack (2004) hinterlassen, nachdem ich auf offener Strasse in Mataram komplett ausgeraubt worden bin (Geld Pass, Flugticket alles weg).
Weiter sind mir auf der Insel noch ein paar Dinger passiert mit Locals die ich nicht brauche.

Leider können dir solche Dinge überall wo es etwas "touristischer" ist passieren aber gehäuft auf Lombok.....
Lombok hat bei mir einen faden Nachgeschmack (2004) hinterlassen, nachdem ich auf offener Strasse in Mataram komplett ausgeraubt worden bin (Geld Pass, Flugticket alles weg).
Weiter sind mir auf der Insel noch ein paar Dinger passiert mit Locals die ich nicht brauche.

Leider scheint es solche Fälle in Südlombok öfters zu geben, das gehört dort fast ein wenig zur Tradition, die Bauern klauen sich sogar die Kühe von der Weide... Es ist allerdings schwer abzuschätzen, wieviel davon tatsächlich passiert und wieviel nur erzählt wird.
Mehrere Taxifahrer haben mir schon erzählt, dass sie nur ungern nachts zum neuen Flugplatz in Praya fahren, weil dort soviel gestohlen wird, das weiss in Lombok jeder. Allerdings konnte mir keiner von einem konkreten Fall erzählen, jeder hat es nur über fünf Ecken gehört.

Es ist eigentlich schon so gedacht, dass man das Parking-Ticket behält, bis man das Moped wieder holt. So hat man einen Beweis, dass man erstens dort ein Moped parkiert hat und dass man dafür bezahlt hat, auch wenn ich weiss, dass die Beweisführung gerne mal zuungunsten der Touristen geführt wird.

Das tönt nicht gut. Hast du Lust, das etwas genauer zu beschreiben? Wo? Zu welcher Zeit? Wie haben andere Leute drauf reagiert (man ist dort ja nie alleine auf der Strasse)?
Insgesamt hinterlässt Lombok tatsächlich einen zweigeteilten Eindruck, einerseits hatte ich dort viele schöne Erlebnisse mit sehr angenehmen Menschen, anderseits gibt es eben auch die unangenehmen Sachen, von denen ich öfters gehört habe, selber aber nie betroffen war.
Bei meinen etwa 80 Besuchen auf Lombok hatte ich nur ein Mal einen Diebstahl zu beklagen, Gummisandalen, die nachts vor der Tür lagen.
Allerdings war ich selten in Südlombok.

Hallo the wanderer,
Naja die Geschichte ist diese:
Ich kam von einer 5 Monats Reise aus Ostindonesien nach Lombok zurück und wollte mich auf den Gillis an die "Zivilisation" gewöhnen.
Also ich war bei einem Bankautomaten in der Hauptstadt und habe Geld geholt und dieses zu meinen Wertsachen in meinen Kangurubeutel gesteckt...was wohl eher nicht so clever war. Gut der Rest der Story ist schnell erzählt.
Trickdiebstahl : man wird in ein Gespräch verwickelt und zack war ich meine wichtigsten Sachen los. Bis ich gemerkt habe was los ist, waren die Jungs auf und davon.
Zum Glück hatte ich meine Kreditkarten noch in der Hosentasche.
Dann bin ich zur Polizei um den Schaden anzuzeigen. Mein Indonesisch war damals etwas schlechter und so musste ich den Bericht selber auf einer "echten " Schreibmaschine tippen .
Der richtige Ärger kam nachdem ich meinen Pass in Sanur beim deutschen Honorar Konsul bekommen hatte und zum Flughafen nach DPS bin.
Die Immigration hat mich ziemlich in die Mangel genommen wegen der fehlenden Stempel im Pass und der nich vorhandenen Immigration-Card. Was ein halbes Jahr in Indonesien und Sie sind kein Journalist . Unmöglich! Nach 8 Stunden haben sie mich dann doch ausreisen lassen, nachdem mir Gefängnis usw angedroht wurde.
Aus diesen Erlebnissen habe ich sehr viel gelernt.
Insgesamt ist Lombok eine Perle nur es gibt dort, im Gegensatz zu anderen Inseln doch den einen oder anderen + paar mehr Gauner .

Für uns ist es eigentlich logisch, dass man in einem notfallmässig beschafften Pass keine Einreisestempel haben kann.

sehe ich genau so. Es hat sich immer gelohnt ein bisschen Geduld zu haben.
In papua parat brauchte man früher immer einen surat jalan um sich in bestimmten Gebieten aufzuhalten. Mit etwas Geduld war es meist etwas billiger

sehe ich genau so. Es hat sich immer gelohnt ein bisschen Geduld zu haben.
